“High Hopes” Review

High Hopes Review

“High Hopes” is a song written and performed by Panic! At The Disco. They are an alternative rock group. The  song was released in 2018 on the album Pray for the Wicked.

High Hopes is my favorite song  because it makes me want to play it more and more and more.  I feel happy and hyper when I  hear it. I dance around when I hear it.  When I go to workout I get my phone and listen to my jam. It helps me workout harder and faster. When I watch the video, I like to sing along with it.

My favorite part of the video is when the lead singer, Brendon Urie, looks up at the skyscraper. He starts out looking nervous then his look turns to determination and he begins climbing the side of the building. Seeing him climb the building amazes me. I laugh when the lady inside waves at him, looking confused. The crowd is looking up with amazement and taking pictures.

In the first verse, he talks about having high hopes for his future. He didn’t have much money, but he had a vision and a feeling that things were just going to work out. His attitude about life was positive. His cute mama is telling him to be something great, to write his own history, to not give up, to never change and always have high high hopes! He didn’t have a lot of money, but he had high hopes. His hopes for the future were for himself to make money to afford a nice life. His cute mama is telling him don’t ever change. The Uphill describes that sometimes things in life can be hard. The Rise talks about things going  well in life.

In the second verse, he says life can be complicated,  but be strong and keep practicing. He decided to put more effort into making things go right. People will be impressed. High in the sky is where he wants his goals to reach. He wants to work hard to reach big goals. His vision is to  work more and have more money. He didn’t have a dime and that could make him mad, sad, jealous, angry, frustrated and dedicated. He wasn’t sure where his feelings of higher hopes came from, but it could have been his mom.  His cute mama  taught him to keep trying. She was his inspiration!
